Experience Required: 60 days at sea as skipper / watch leader in at least 5 voyages, at least in 3 different sea areas, including tidal waters (at least one area), 2 passages over 100 nautical miles as skipper
Certification Required: Offshore Power Yacht Skipper (or any equivalent certificate) + STCW + VHF Radio + Medical Fitness certificate
Duration: 8 days (5 days theory class & 3 days practical training + exam)
Course Competence: To command yachts up to 200GT, day and night, 150 sea miles offshore.

Course details

Competence after the course:
Act safely as a Master of motor yachts up to 200GT, day & night, up to 150 nm offshore. Minimum age required: 18 years old.

Experience required prior to training:
1- Logged 60 days at sea as a skipper or watch keeper at least in 3 different sea areas, including tidal waters. (Letters of experience can be provided).
2- Sea time must be obtained on a vessel at least 15m in length.
3- Thirty hours on watch at night underway as an active member of a yacht’s crew.
4- Valid medical fitness.

Certificates required prior to training:
1- VHF SRC Radio certificate.
2- STCW 95 -Basic Safety Training-as amended 2010.
3- Provide any certificates you may hold (optional).

Course duration: 5 days theory & 3 days practical + 1 day exam.

Summary

After 30 days theory and “stay on board” practice with real guests (private/charter), students might be offered a permanent contract, due to basic requirements and results. However, each student will get a written references from the captains on duty. Every 10 days there will be a shift to another vessel (18m-40m). Students will practice as a Solo, Junior, Second Stew/Stewardess.
